The Berlin Maraton is one of the THE BIG FIVE marathons like New York, London, Chicago and Boston.It is the fastest marathon in the world due to its flat terrain. The run starts and finishes right next to the Brandenburg Gate, cross trough the 10 quarters of the city and touches the most important monuments as Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz, Berliner Dom.
Haile Gebrselassie will once again be competing in the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON. On September 28, 2008 , after his victories in 2005 and last year (in a world-record time of 2:04: 26), the Ethiopian world-class runner will again attempt to complete the flat course through the city centre faster than any man before him.
Also in Berlin at the time of the race is a hockey game. Test your limits at the 42,195 km real,- BERLIN-MARATHON and then at 4 pm the NHLs Tampa Bay Lightning and the German Champion Eisbären Berlin will go head to head in Berlins brand new world class arena o2 world.
