The capital of Victoria in Australia being the second largest city, is a real fun gateway! The first settler in Melbourne was John Batman, he claimed land just north of Port Phillip Bay. After that Captain William Londsdale came from oversee Sydney to Melbourne, and the town get its original name, after the British Prime Minister at the time, Lord Melbourne, so in 1851 Victoria was established as a separate colony.Melbourne is known to be edgy and rough, sophisticated and slick, making a great atmosphere, you can smell a global culture and population everywhere in the city. The city is big enough and just trough it flows the Yarra River, dividing Melbourne in two parts, creating predominantly working class areas in the North and West regions, and more affluent areas in the South and the East. The north bank of the Yarra is also known as Central Business District (CBD) or Golden Mile, because of its 1mile long and ½ mile wide.
Its considered to be the cultural capital of Australia, and it certainly live up to its label…countless nightclubs, operas, theaters, there is so much to do, experience that will never end and it will never stop to surprise you. The cosmopolitan has beautiful beach side and also inner city, offering all!
