Every year around 14th of February, Paris has always been considered the most romantic city in the world then it’s obvious that spending it in Paris is the ultimate experience But nobody really knows who is the mysterious Valentines Saint who started all this tradition around the earth. Just imagine the city of Paris with its lights, boulevards and bistros will help you get into the mood , is there anything better? It’s still a mystery for us today, but the beginning of this love day dates back in both Christian and ancient Roman tradition times. Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.
There are many legends but one of the most famous is that, Valentine was a priest during the third century in Rome, when Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
