The path that will bring the torch to Tokyo should begin in a month, without applause or fans.
The organizers of the Tokyo 2002 Olympics have announced the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay for March 25.
Spectators will be able to observe the torch from a distance but without applauding or being wild fans of it. Typhus is strictly prohibited, all to avoid crowds.

For this reason, the Olympic and Japanese officials decided to postpone Tokyo 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The torch relay was stopped a few days before it started last year. It had never occurred in Olympic history.
March 25 the chosen date
The organizers of the Tokyo 2020 Games, although concerned about the health safety of participants and citizens, due to Covid-19, have announced the date of March 25, 2021 for the departure of the Olympic Torch.
Departure from Fukushima
The Torch will start from Fukushima and exactly from the J-Village football training center. Not by chance choice made by Japan.
This symbolic place highlights the role of Tokyo 2020 as the “Olympics of reconstruction” – after the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster of 2011 that hit the Fukushima region.
Spectators will be able to watch the flame go by, but they will need to avoid crowding and only witness segments of the relay near their home clearly wearing protective masks.
Guidelines
Some of the guidelines dictated by the Committee are: support with applause rather than shouts of joy or cheers, the guidelines, adding that social distance must be maintained.
“Individual relay segments will be suspended if there is a risk of overcrowding,” the guidelines add.
To follow the guidelines, the relay sections and the torchbearers will be chosen at the last minute to avoid gatherings in the case of famous people.
Torchbearers will be able to run without masks. A good sign for the upcoming summer heat that some will have to live with. Japan’s summer heat will be felt.
All participants, torchbearers and staff must have their medical records and declare what they have done in the last 2 weeks. We do not want to compromise everything due to Covid-19
The Games are expected to open on 23 July.
The president of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) Thomas Bach said that the possibility of having foreign spectators at the Olympics will be decided between April or May.
