The MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome- which is a municipal art museum located on Via Reggio Emilia, is exhibiting from the 3rd of December until the 29th of April 2012 the work of the great photographer and reporter Steve Mc Curry.

The McCurry exhibition shows over 200 photographs chosen among a huge repertory of pictures taken over 30 years of travels. You will find at the MACRO his most iconic photos, like the famous portrait of the Afghan girl with green eyes. There is also the chance to see for the first time some of his most recent works made from 2009 to 2011.

On the program too: the extraordinary images taken in Thailand and Burma dedicated to Buddhism, a new and never published before work about Cuba and a tribute to Italy in the year of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification (series of “Italian pictures” taken especially for the event during his many stays during the year in several places of the city chosen to represent the subject matter and emotions, underlining the usual threads and incredible links tying people and places together. An interpretation of the country that recreate the sense of humanity that exudes from McCurry’s photos.

The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from 3pm to 11pm and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 11am to 11pm . And the ticket price is 10 euro full price,8 discount(student, less than 18 and more than 65)
