The most beautiful detail about Athens is that the cars are actually banished from the ancient sites, it has become the longest most stunning pedestrian promenade in europe. You might think, what’s so special about it, but once you have silence and peace, only then you can enjoy the true beauty of this laid back paradise.
Most of the visitors have love and hate relation with Athens, consider that almost half of the Greek population lives in here, making the traffic incredibly chaotic and the smog seems to never back off. But once you land in here, you will feel that you are actually walking on a sacred ground. Athens is fascinating, being one of the oldest cities in the world, with important treasures like Agora and Acropolis. The whole area around Acropolis, Plaka also the main shopping street are pedestrianized now.
