Red Cross – Red Crescent
On the night between the 7th and the 8th of December, 2005, The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies with 192 countries partners, have decided to change their logo to make it more global. They are changing the Red Cross representing the catholics and the Red Crescents representing the Arabic countries, and today also The Star of David from Israel into one universal symbol. The new symbol consists of a Red Rectangle which represents all different people, religions, and does not create problems between differences. The symbol is a mix between the Red Cross, The Red Crescent, and The Star of David. The new symbol chosed must be above all ideologies and hopefully it will eliminate problems created by some religious fanatisms. The new symbol will be used starting in 2006 after an official conference.
