Debut in Imola, ItalyFerrari Challenge 2006 starts in Imola
Great start for our friend, Giuseppe Ciro, at the Ferrari Challenge opening race, run off in Imola.
Without a doubt, during the two days in Imola, all the teams did their best effort to proudly compete in the inaugural race of the 2006 championship and the results were immediately spectacular, confirming the predictions done prior to the competition; with the strongest in the front line, ready to engage until the end of the first free trials on Saturday morning.
The first free trials suddenly saw Giuseppe Ciro in the main role who made the best time of al the session, stopping the chronometer at 1’56.731.
At the moment of the official tests, when times count, no stone was left unturned; in fact, the battle was very tight and Ciro conquered the sixth place respectively on the starting grid one and second on the starting grid two.
Home that night and back on Sunday morning under a stifling, summer-like sun at the racetrack “Autodromo Dino e Enzo Ferrari” in Imola, where the first two runs of the 2006 Ferrari Challenge championship and the Pirelli trophy were contested.
At the start of the first race, Giuseppe immediately stood up and fought the pilot who preceded him, conquering a position which he defended until the 50th run under the chequered flag. Altogether, he conquered the fifth place and 8 points in the ranking.
After sampling the atmosphere of run one, Giuseppe was present at run two, still strong from the second position on the grid. Within the first 50 minutes of experience at the Ferrari Challenge everything was clear, the pilot was immediately in the right place, in fact he only needed a few runs to stand out from the pilots who followed him, chasing his friend Vito Prostiglione leader of the race who kept the first place until the end.
At the end, satisfied from the second place obtained on run two, he stood on the second step of the podium aware of the fact that this year will also be a year as a protagonist and that he is willing to toil for the conquest of the Ferrari Challenge 2006.
