Springing into Europe

Making the most of the new season!
The frost of winter has finally started to lift – foggy days are getting rarer, gumboots are drying out, and the smell in the air is starting to change. It’s coming. Spring. Springtime. Flowers, sunshine and long days in parks, in piazzas, with a cold beer in hand and sunglasses at the ready.

Make sure that you take advantage of this great season in Europe, when low-cost flights abound, the summer crowds still haven’t arrived, and you can finally shake off those winter blues. All it takes is some organisation and smart planning!

Spring is after all, about new beginnings and a new start. In spring, you’ll be able to find some great deals on airfares to (even) sunnier places than where you are right now. Try the southern mediterranean hotspots of Sicily, Greece, and Croatia – you’ll find cheap deals on flights as well as accommodations … and empty beaches to boot.

Or, check out flights to the great European art cities – Florence, Rome, Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam. The summer crowds aren’t lining up outside the Uffizi and the Lourve just yet … but you’ll still find some great (sunny!) park time to reflect on art masterpieces.

Even better, do something active – without breaking into a sweat. Enjoy the crisp mountain air (and the last of the snow!) in Switzerland, hike the Cinque Terre in Italy’s Liguria and find out what the fuss is all bout in Norway’s Fjords when winter is just about to wind up.

It’s about getting out and enjoying the arrival of spring – whether its for the longer days, the smell of blossoms, or… well, simply, that gelato you’ve been waiting all winter for. Before you know it, it’ll be summer, festivals and beachtime all over again. Just remember to book your tickets and your hostel beds now – and spoil yourself by taking advantage of specials at groovy hostels… at spring prices!
