Rome Tennis Masters Series

The Italian Open Tennis Tournament (Masters series), held every year in May at the Foro Italico tennis park, on the banks of the Tevere river, close to the Olympic Stadium. Surface: red clay. Singles final will be best of five sets.

The 2007 Italian Open tournament was won by Spaniard Rafael Nadal beating Roger Federer in a gruelling match that lasted over 5 hours. The Women’s final saw Jelena Jankovic beat Svetlana Kuznesova.



The 2008 tournament will be held from 5 to 18 May 2008. The first week will be the men’s tournament and the second week the women’s tournament. The men’s final will be played on 11th May (semi-finals 10th May) and the women’s final on 18th May (semi-finals 17th May).
