Dublin’s Ghost

The Ghostbus Tour
With its dark, gothic atmosphere, Dublin is probably one of the best cities on the planet for a ghost tour.
Boarding the purple double.decker Ghostbus at O’Connel street.
The Irish generally revel in the macabre and guides are no exception.
Blessed with a devilish grin and a dark sense of humore ,those actors are clearly enjoying his passangers’ nervous giggles of anticipation , as they settle behind the colses velvet curtains.

Don’t be surprise if you find some palstic bones on your seat!
Crossing the River Liffey on O’connel bridge , first stop is Trinity College.
Of all the famous Irish writers who went to univer here, the most popular is probably Bram Stoker, whose classic horror story Dracula was first published in 1897.
On the tour , you will learn more about Irish history.
You might hear the story of a British hangman who used to dangleIrish rebels to their deaths from his seve-foot frame and who still haunts st.Stephen’s Green.
Then there’s the tale of a bishop who is buried in st.Kevin’s Graveyard.
He was tortured and hung for saying mass at a time when this was prohibited.

Now disused, St.Kevin’s graveyard dates back to the early 13th century and is one of Dublin’s oldest cemeteries.
Wandering around the grave-stones and trees on a moonlight night is hugely atmospheric.

And last, but not least, there are all the chilling stories of medical profession’s body snatchers, who stole corpses from the city’s cemeteries.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, it cannot be denied that the Irish are among the world’s greatest storytellers.

And this also explains why Dublin is such a wonderful place for Ghosts…
