San Sebastian Gastronomy Conference and Tortillas Championship 24-27 November 2008.
Lobster, truffles, tempura, foie gras… At San Sebastián’s Gastronomy Conference(Lo Mejor de la Gastronomía) at the Palacio de Congresos del Kursaal, Spain’s top chefs come together to show off their super culinary skills, give cooking masterclasses and vie for awards.

Events usually include a ‘Best Tortilla’ contest, where the prize goes to the chef who can turn out the tastiest potato omelette – a classic Spanish recipe. There are also classes, where visitors can learn more about cooking with certain ingredients, such as truffles, and find out more about the art of making pinchos (typical tapas of the Basque Country).

Make sure you arrive with a voracious appetite and an open ticket back home, because you just might fall in love with the food.
