With 2 million visitors every year, and a grand total of over 1 billion in sales, the Dubai Shopping Festival is a spectacle not to pass up.Beginning in January and running through February, this annual event includes merchants selling everything from clothing, to electrical appliances. The festival includes fashion shows, theatre performances, films to watch, fireworks displays as well as childrens activities.
On either side of the Dubai creek is the souks which is where the best shopping can be found. This is where you can put your bargaining skills to the test. There is a fish market, a richly coloured spice market, carpets and fabrics, The streets are lined with glittering jewellery in the store windows in your choice of gold. You can also pick up traditional goods such as prayer beads or Arabic coffee pots and swords.
Should you not be able to find what you’re looking for at the festival, you can always drop in to the Dubai International Airport which holds perhaps the best Duty Free store in the world.
