Hostelworld.com, the leading provider of online reservations to the budget, independent and youth travel market, today announced their biggest ever promotion – the Hostelworld.com EUR10,000 Golden Ticket Giveaway. To celebrate the company’s milestone 10th anniversary, Hostelworld.com will distribute 10 golden tickets in 10 days to 10 lucky winners.

Between July 27th and August 5th, customers that book online on Hostelworld.com, at any of their 20,000 properties across 170 countries, will be entered in a draw to win a coveted golden ticket. Every day a winner from the previous day’s bookings will be randomly selected as a golden ticket winner and will be awarded EUR1,000 in cold hard cash! Silver and bronze ticket winners will also be selected each day over the 10 day period. Runner-up prizes include the iPod touch and a limited edition Hostelworld.com Northface backpack.

“Our Golden Ticket Giveaway celebrates ten years of innovation and market leadership,” said Feargal Mooney, CEO Hostelworld.com. “Our dedicated users have made Hostelworld an industry leader over the past decade and we are thrilled to be able to give something back by recognizing them with this giveaway.”

Hostelworld.com was launched in 1999 by an IT entrepreneur and hostel owner who developed an idea that changed the face of the online budget travel industry – they filled a gap in the travel market that had previously been ignored by introducing online bookings into hostels.

10 years on Hostelworld has gone on to sell 70M beds, processed over 15 million bookings and generated more then 2 million user reviews of hostels worldwide. Hostelworld also offers extensive award winning content including free podcasts, city guides and videos.
