The Cabrillo Festival is held annually on Septmber 26th and 27th in San Diego, California. It takes place to commemorate the 16th century European explorations along the California coastline and the discovery of the San Diego Bay on the 28 of September in 1542 by Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo. The event is great for everyone, including the entire family, with lots of activities and performances all day long.Brightly colored costumes and clothing, music and dancing, and authentic Mexican, Spanish and Portugese foods can all be sampled by various vendors. There are recreations of the 16th century soldier’s quarters, a re-enactment of Cabrillo’s landing in San Diego, weapons demonstrations and arts and crafts booths.
