Cape Town Pride Festival

Cape Town Pride festival has announced the dates of the 2010 Festival. Discover Africa while having fun! The Cape Town Pride Parade danced through the streets of a city starts on Saturday 26th of February 2010, celebrating homosexuality and tolerance. The end of the festival is announced to be on the 7th of March. The week long entertainment cannot be missed especially when you are in the city that is like a magnet to visitors from all over the world.


The preparation for the festival has already started. One of the main attractions of this year preparation was called “Wine, Food and Fine Furnishings”. It was a collaborative Sunday tea-dance event, that represented photography, arts and crafts, food tasting and fund raising events incorporating several individuals, groups and enterprises. In addition, various items created by fashion designers were on sale. Thanks to this event the funds of the festival were increased and now the event is ready to kick off with all its power in the end of February.

The Theme of this year Pride festival is “Uniting Cultures of Cape Town”. The program of the festival is colorful and diverse like the event itself. You will be able to visit various art exhibitions, book fairs and film festivals, participate in the sport events and party till the late hours in themed parties and balls. Furthermore, Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride will be crowned just before the beginning of the festival – on the 20th of February, 2010.
