U2 is a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. They started to play as a band named Feedback back in 1976. On 1978 they took a part in Ireland’s talent show, that got attention of CBS Records and an offer to record demos. That moment they switched their name to U2, which is shrouded in various legends and stories.

Their first album “Boy” was released in October , 1980 tp strong critical acclaim.Also secound – ”October” and third – “War” , were sold strongly in the UK. They didn’t break trough to the US top 40, until “Pride” from their 4th album – “The Unforgettable Fire”, released in 1984, which replicated the chart status of War, entering the Uk charts at number one and eraching number 12 in the U.S.

Today U2 is a one of the most popular and influential rock bands of the last 30 years.

As the lead singer of U2, Bono is a figure adored and admired both within and outside of the music industry, he has gained deep respect from politicans and global statesmen as well as music fans. His determination to change the world for the better continues to inspire millions on both sides of the political divide. They have released 12 studio albums and are among the most critically and commercially successful groups in the world’s popular music. More than any other bands, they have won 22 Grammy Awards and have sold more than 150 million records.
