Capital of Costa Rica
The lovely city of San Jose, is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica. Located in the Central Valley, it is the location of the national government and the focal point of political and economic activity.San Jose is one of the youngest capital cities in Latin America, founded in 1738 by Cabildo de Leon. Today it is a modern city frequently visited by travelers wanting to experience the art, architecture, and improved tourism industry. The climate of San José might be the cities greatest feature. It has an average temperature of 25°C, other wise known as perfection.
San Jose offers a mixture of ritzy fast pace modern life and humble traditional easy living. From high-end bars and nigtclubs to luxury apartments and shopping centers, the high rollers can travel comfortably in San Jose. The area known as El Pueblo has an assortment of over fifty bars, clubs and shops.
On the other side of things, there’s plenty of outdoor activities for more nature loving sort. There’s whitewater rafting, canopy tree-top tours, horseback riding, tours of the several national parks, which include active volcanoes. There’s also the National Theater and Gold Museum right in the heart of San Jose.
San Jose also has an efficient and cheap public transportation system connecting the different cuty quarters with each other and with the suburbs.
San Jose hosts many festivals and cultural events throughout the years. The most popular are San Isidro del General Fiestas, San Jose Day, Battle of Rivas Day, Holy Week in April, and Costa Rica’s Independence Day.
