There is a huge celebration all over the Helsinki town with a host of international premieres and unique ensembles. . When finally the long and cold winter nights are over and summer steps in with its warm nights, Helsinki start to celebrate in style, as usual.In the programme are classical and contemporary music, dance, theater, cinema, popular and world music, different kind of performances and art exhibitions. All the galleries in the town are open all night long, in the parks and churches there music is played non stop, all kind of music and dance groups are performing on the street corners.
2011 Helsinki are expecting a host from the China Drama Academy, who will step up on the stage together with the famous Finnish Peking opera performers. Also circus will be there, a French circus artists and also clowning scene in the store which you will enjoy with all the family from professional Licedei troupe from St.Petersburg.
The cultural Helsinki Festival is the most diverse programme on Finland’s annual calendar, most famous and most celebrated one. The event will last over 17days, starting from 19th of August until 4th of September, like all the other years, the festival will include all kind of music, from world classics to dance, modern dance, cinema and different kind of children’s literature and activities.
