Picasso called it home
Everyone talks just about Paris, like is the only place in France to see, some are very disappointed by Parisians attitude and snob characters, but it’s not all about Paris and by seeing Paris, you definitely haven’t seen anything from France. Montmartre is one of Paris neighbourhoods, the Romans called it Mons Mercurii, Medieval people referred to it as Montmartre.This area is very well known and even famous for the many 19th-20th Century painters who made it home. As it’s just next to Paris, all the artists, who werent famous yet, wanted to rent something cheaper, so they sattled in this area, such as Picasso, Modigliani, Renoir, Manet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Utrillo and Van Gogh, so the streets of Montmartre were full of struggling artists.
Many of the cabarets, once alive with songs and young women dancing the cancan, can still be visited. The city has a very colourful past, which has left an indelible mark on its tiny streets. But mostly famous for Vendanges de Montmartre, Montmartre Harvest, dating back to time, when the Paris region produced wine in respectable quantities, right now is mostly symbolic event, but still there is a lot of fun. People say that French here are so much more friendlier and nicer than Parisians..well, you never know , maybe it’s worth to visit and try it on.
