Every summer, tourists are sweating and fainting, waiting in the line to get in , hoping to catch a corner of shadow in 33C heat…exactly tis is the time, to open the Shadow of Colosseum, but different one. Ombra del Colosseo is an annual summer festival starting mid June every year, situated at the top of the Caelian Hill, just two minutes away from the actual Colosseum.Ombra del Colosseo features bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs, also many night concerts. But that’s not it, this is not the reason to be called shadow of Colosseum, the reason is even better, nice swimming pool, imagine hot summer night with nice music , dancing happy people around and swimming pool right next to you…nice one!
The pool run by the Castellum Sport and Culture Association, is located in the heart of the historic centre, just behind the Colosseum, in the Parco del Celio, very popular for concerts. You will have so much fun in the shadow of the Colosseum, food, drinks, live music, disco and even a poker table, this is what’s Roman summer is like, cabaret acts, comedians and music.
