Capital of Puerto Rico

Beautiful San Juan
San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico and was founded in 1521 by Juan Ponce de Leon. The country has tropical climate, averaging around 30 degrees and around 247 days of sunshine throughout the year.

San Juan Port is one of the busiest in the Caribbean. San Juan is the country’s financial capital, and many U.S. banks and corporations maintain offices or distributing centres there.

There are 3 main areas in San Juan: Old San Juan, the Beach & Resort area, and other outlying communities – each hold a rich history about Puerto Rico’s past.

Plaza de Armas is San Juan’s main square. It is home to four statues representing the four seasons, each of which are over 100 years old.

Plaza de Colón was originally called St. James Square but was renamed in 1893 to honour Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the country.
