Halloween is like a line between fall and winter, life and death, it’s a time of celebration and superstition, if we dig in the history, it seems to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts back in 8th century. Pope Gregory III designated the first of November as a day to honour all saints and martyrs, and the 31st October, the eve before was known as All Hallows’ Eve and later Halloween. But there were no masks or costumes before, it came by time, adding also kid games, trick or treat. So it’s a perfect reason to celebrate in a time, when the days get shorter and the dark comes early, its a time for a treat!

Actually, the costumes for Halloween that we have now, their origins comes from the Romans and the Druids, later they made this feast an even more extensive celebration by also honoring Samhain, lord of the dead. After it was spread all over the world and the celebration of Halloween become one of the most popular events and most awaited festival of the year for both, adults and the children. So get your masks and the best costumes, and celebrate the Halloween!
