City, that for sure has one common religion, drinking tea, Seoul is an amazing universe of teas, charming tea houses everywhere at any time of the day, this is the place where Seoul’s soul lies. December in Seoul means holiday decorations, trees, lights, cozy hats, snow, a real winter atmosphere and some of the year’s best festivals, such as Boseong Green Tea Plantation Light Festival.

Seoul might be the princess of the country with everything you need in the capital, but Boseong is the queen of the Green Tea Plantation. The history if green tea was introduced to Korea back in the 7th century. About 200 years later, they have planted the seeds of the green tea at the foot of Jirisan mountain, nowadays the most famous rolling hills of green tea are in Boseong, the capital of green tea.

So what happens in december in this city? The citizens light up a large tree, decorated with lights in the Haecheon-myeon, Yeongcheon-ri regions. Boseong Green Tea Plantation Light Festival annually sends a message hoping for the New Year to tourists and residents who visit Boseong during the winter period. You have no idea how beautiful it get in the night, we are not talking about one tree, we talk about the whole plantation lighted up, the green tea bushes will be decorated with lights for the festival , making the panorama magical. Their green tea bushes are basicly their Christmas tree. This will be the ninth year that the Plantation of Boseong has been decorated. To give the visitors a look at the unique contours of the terraced hillside terrain, they will line the plantation with colorful Christmas lights.

The festival starts on early December, lasting until January, giving all the visitors a chance to see the green tea beauty. Last year, which was Dragon year, one of the light exhibits showed a coiled dragon with a pearl in its mouth,and the ideas went more particular, with green tea’s Love Galaxy Light Tunnel, the Green Tea Themed Street, and the Love Photo Zone. There will be other fun activities, fireworks and markets held to entertain each one of you , bringing you closer to South Koreas real passion.
