Sochi, Russian resort city
Sochi is a resort city in Russia, located in Krasnodar krai of Russia, among the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus region, well known as the summer resort capital of the country. The city has subtropical climate with many tourists and thousands of interested to discover Russia’s best cities. Sochi will host the the Winter Olympic Games 2014, so developers are getting ready to prepare the city, being ready to show the possibly best to the visitors and the rest of the world, also making a huge effort to increase Sochi’s popularity.The ceremony will open with less than in a month, Russian resort city won to be the host at an IOC session in Guatemala in 2007. This will be the first time in the history of Russian Federation, that they will host the Winter Games. They will organize the games in two clusters, one will be for ice events and the other for mountain cluster, situated in the Krasnaya Polyana Mountains.
The Sochi Olympic Park was specially built for the olympic Games along the Black Sea, in the Imeretinskaya Valley, it’s a place where all the ice venues are freshly built specially for the Games, such as the Bolshoi Ice Palace, the Maly Ice Palace, the Olympic Oval, the Sochi Olympic Skating Centre, the Olympic Curling Centre, the Central Stadium, the Main Olympic Village and the International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre.
Winter Games 2014 in Sochi will take place from the 6 to 23 February, 98 events and 15 winter sports are expected to be held at the resort town of Krasnaya Polyana. Sochi will be the warmest city that has ever hosted the Winter Games, with temperature of 8 degrees , with humid subtropical climate. The total cost of the Games is estimated at 50 billion dollars, a lot of money will be spent on security, with 23.000 security personnel hired to protect the athletes, that makes about 16 security personal for each of the 2500 athletes!!!
