Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo Disneyland goes out of it’s way to rival the original park, located in California, with tons of wild rides, all of which are divided into seven differently themed zones. Full of all-singing, all-dancing parades and the familiar costumed characters, kids and adults are sure to enjoy themselves at the “Happiest Place on Earth”!The Tokyo Disney Resort is located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. It was the first Disney park to be built outside of the United States and opened on April 15, 1983. The park was constructed by Walt Disney Imagineering in the same style as that of the Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. There are seven themed areas throughout the park. The World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, as well as two mini lands; Critter Country and Mickey’s Toontown. The park is recognized for it’s huge open spaces which accomodate the massive crowds that flock to the park each year. In 2007, Tokyo Disneyland played host to approximately 13.9 million guests, ranking it among one of the third-most visited theme park in the world, together the American parks “Disneyland” and the “Magic Kingdom”.
Upon entering into the magical world of Disney, visitors walk through the “World Bazaar”, a replica of old-style America, the way it once was years and years ago. Complete with a Penny Arcade and a cinema which plays vintage Disney cartoons. Critter Country takes it’s name from the loveable little animals from the Disney film “Song of the South” and is decorated with cute little houses. In Westernland, visitors meet with cowboys, dancing girls and even dancing bears in the wild west-era setting!
There are plenty of rides to please lovers of the classic Disney movies. Take an exciting ride on Roger Rabbit’s Car-Toon Spin in Toontown, or fly through the sky with Peter Pan over London and on to Neverland in Fantasyland! The park is full of daily parades, shows and concerts. At nightfall, a spectacular fireworks display will leave you wanting to come back the next day to experience the magic all over again!
