International arts calendar is presenting the fabulous annual event full of cultural enritchment – Hong Kong Art Festival. The city will be holding the name of the cultural Mecca for more than one month, as 38th Hong Kong Arts Festival will be held from the 25th of February till the 28th of March 2010. Despite the current economic climate, advance sales are strong, and so far more than 55% of tickets are already sold. Hurry up, if you don’t want to miss this cultural highlight in Asia.


The festival is considered to be Hong Kong’s premier performing arts event presenting a wide variety of regional, national and international star performances. The Dance, Theater, music and opera events will be conquering the various places of the city, encourage artistic dialogue and cultural exchange. Hong Kong Art Festival provides a broad spectrum of programmes, ranging from classical performances to innovative and modern art forms. This feast for the senses is looking forward to being discovered and evaluated.

The highlisghts of the festival include: the ballet Don Quixote, presened by the marvelous Mariinsky Ballet (Russia), London’s Philharmonia Orchestra, Dutch National Ballet and a play “The truth about Lying” introduced by multi-award winning Multi-award winning playwright Wong Wing-sze. In addition, Café de los Maestros will be emphasizing the thrill of tango and Cantonese Opera Treasures will show off the brightest stars and opera’s evolution… And this is just a part of what you can see and hear during Hong Kong Art Festival.

Furthermore, the festival is announcing so-called PLUS programmes. These include meet-the-artist sessions, talks, workshops, masterclasses, youth programmes and other unique events.
