“Premièreâ€, a non-competitive red carpet event dedicated to international first releases, these films will premier with their stars and directors in attendance.
“Alice in the City†is a festival within the festival for up and coming young filmgoers, children and teenagers.
“Focusâ€, a cross-disciplinary series of events.
Best independent international productions will also be showcased with an international A- Lister or 2 flying into Rome for the event.
“Extra†is an initiative that supports new forms of expression by showing films, video games, documentaries and video clips that capture and highlight new trends in filmmaking.

The screening rooms have been equipped with new technologies, in particular the D-Cinema digital projection and the stereoscopic 3D vision system, and for the 5th year in a row there will be 2 large theatres: the Salacinema LOTTO seating around 900 people, and the Salacinema ALITALIA which can seat around 700 movie goers and guests,
Each night during the Festival the city will be abuzz with events and activities for the lovers of film, with celebrations that will take place in other venues around Rome.
The entire city will be involved in some way in the Festival’s program. The Metropolitan will be re-screening the films already shown at the Auditorium, while the Sala Trevi “Alberto Sordi†will be giving a retrospective on “La Dolce Vitaâ€
The MAXXI Museum will play host to the opening night event, while the MACRO will present 4 contemporary art exhibitions connected with cinema.
The exhibition “Labirinto di Fellini†(“Fellini’s Labyrinthâ€) will be held at La Pelanda and at the Mercati di Traiano there will be “La Dolce Vita 1950-1960â€, an exhibition of the Italian stars and celebrities from that time, and the Musei Capitolini will be the venue for the exhibition: “Leonardo e Michelangelo a confronto†(“A comparison between Leonardo and Michelangeloâ€), dedicated to Leonardo’s “Portrait of a Musicianâ€.
