This is Romes year
11th of June 20011 will begin the big parade in Rome,Euro Pride 2011. It will start from the Piazza dei Cinquecento and will wind through the center of Rome, to the historic streets of great beauty. Including beautiful places like Via Cavour , Imperial Forums, Colosseum, Circus Maximus. All this beautiful and evocative event will end up with with the great Big Parade Finale Concert.After the event was held last time back in 2000 in Rome and was transformed to become the first World Pride, the parade is back this year. Eleven years have passed and a great opportunity to look back briefly at what have happened for the LGBTI community in Europe since 2000.
In most of the European countries people has notably changed for the better, many have anti discrimination laws including discrimination on the sexual orientation basis. Unfortunately and ashamedly Italy is the only country from the six founding members of the community that is lacking any progress in this issue.
Euro Parade is the most important event who represents and supports lesbians and gays. This is Rome’s year, every year it changes in diverse European cities. For two weeks Rome will be full of concerts and cultural artistic events. Rome invites all Europe’s gays and lesbians to colorful this parade.
Big artists like Lady Gaga will be giving a concert, the super pop star will take part in the parade in person to the final of the Euro Pride Club Maximus in Rome on 11 June. Euro Pride Rome is proud to welcome the extraordinary LADY GAGA!
The pop star has accepted an invitation to participate in a gay pride parade in Rome’s Circus Maximus – the closing event of 2011 Euro Pride. They are very proud of the fact that Italian-American artist will come to the Italian Capital. As Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State, said “ Human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights†. Lady Gaga’s new album “Born This Way” sold a million copies in its first week.
