There is a place that not every tourist knows, some of the famous fountains yes they do know, but Quattro Fontane not every one have heard, the Four fountains are located between via delle Quattro Fontane and via del Quirinale.

The special thing about them is, that are each on one corner of the junction at the highest point of the Quirinal Hill, which is the highest hill in Rome. The amazing fountains were designed by Domenico Fontana for Pope Sixtus V and decorate the central point of a triangle formed by obelisks at Santa Maria Maggiore, Piazza del Quirinale and Trinita’ de Monti.

They were built between 1588 and1590 , the name Quattro Fontane was given from the composition of four fountains located in the crossing point between this street and Via XX Settembre. If you pass by and see just one, maybe it wont awake any emotions in you, but if you will know there are four ,360 degrees panoramas from Roma, you will be amazed.
