Startlingly familiar and iconic
There won’t be enough photos or information, to prepare you for the Grand Canyon, which is one of the world’s seven wonders, a place where impossible seems possible, and where problems seem to be so small and so far away, a place, while facing it, will make you feel so small and powerless, it’s definitely a place worth visit at least once in the lifetime, a very powerful and inspiring landscape, which will immediately overwhelm our senses through its size. Grand Canyon is 446 km long and 29 km wide, and 1.6 km deep, impressive and scary at the same time, you will keep making hundreds of pictures, trying to capture it , putting pieces together, being desperate to not be able to, it’s like using a camera in a front of sunset, which won’t be the same in the picture, the same is Canyon, impossible to see in a picture, only in your memory, with a desperate will to come back.As it’s hard to capture it, it’s hard enough to describe it as well, first of all, you have to know that it took 3 to 6 million years to form it, erosion continues to alter its contours, it consist of South Rim, for the most part a desert and North Rim,which has a totally different world up here, Grand Canyon includes about 70 species of mammals , 250 species of birds, 25 types of reptiles and five species of amphibians. The population in this canyon is very diverse, but totally there are over 1500 plant and 500 types of animals, each of them living in the area that suits them, desert or mountain forests.
This world’s wonder has been still discovered, a part of it is still very wild, you will have a feeling that the wild west never left, maybe because it’s so isolated, to get from the South rim to the North one it takes like 5 hrs, even if it’s just about 12 miles away. Once you will get there, at the first moment you won’t hear any oohs and aahs from the other visitors, cos you will be busy to doing them yourself, once you will get used to idea, which is kind of hard, you will hear only oohs and aahs…Grand Canyon has two very different world in one, you will need few days to see it as much as possible, cos all entire canyon would be hard to see.
There is no other place like Grand Canyon in the whole world, you have to see it with your own eyes. Did you know that there were no fossilized reptile skeleton or bone founded, no teeth , no sign of someone else who could help this wonder to happen, for thousands of years this area was inhabited by Native Americans, building their settlements within the canyon, most of the people living in there, considere Grand Canyon as a holy site…Inhabitants in here are farmers, hunters and water suppliers, through the centuries many legends and stories have been told and created, that for us, people living out of Grand Canyon, is a dream to live and experience in this majestic place attached deep spiritual significance to the land.
