Year of Rat, which is also known by its former name of Wu Zi.

Chinese New Year oor the Lunar New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.

It is an important holiday in East Asia.

The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month

in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival.



Chinese New Year is observed as a public holiday in a number of countries and

territories where a sizable Chinese population resides.




The Chinese New Year’s celebrations are market by Dragon dances/Lion dances, fireworks, family gathering, family meal,

visiting friends and relatives, giving red envelopes, decorating with duilian.



And what shall we expect from this year?

The Rat was welcomed in ancient times as a protector and bringer of material prosperity.

It is the first of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.

Rat is associated with aggression, wealth, charm, and order, yet also associated with death, war, the occult, pestilence, and atrocities.
