Budapest and Keith Haring…till 16 Nov 08′

Last days…for Keith Haring Exibition!
Keith Haring died of AIDS at 31 years and would have celebrated his 50th birthday this year.
To commemorate his famous works, the Ludwig Museum, along with others around the world, exhibit his art in a unique display.

Haring was inspired by the work of graffiti artists, hip-hop culture, Abstract Expressionism, Andy Warhol and Pop Art.

He was adamant at using a single light gesture when creating his paintings and never making any corrections or sketches.

Most important to the artist was reaching as wide an audience as possible which is why he sold his works in public places as well as in museums and exhibitions.

The ‘radiant baby’ and ‘barking dog’ are well-known characters he created in his time and can be seen in this display of his handiwork between 1979 and 1989 with 11 paintings and more than 80 graphics on show to represent his success.

Don’t miss out on the first time such an extensive overview of his works takes place in Hungary.
