One World International Film Festival

Prague Hostels and Hotels
Prague holds perhaps one of the most interesting festivals of the year with the One World Human Rights International Documentary Film Festival taking place from the 11th until the 19th March.

Beginning in 1998 the One World Festival aims to provide the audience with films that ‘…expose abuses, encourage dignity, inspire solidarity and foster mutual understanding.’ Over the years the festival has grown from 3000 audience members to a staggering 18,200 people in attendance. The festival also travels to approximately 28 other cities within the Czech Republic and includes films from all over the world.

Created and organised by the non-profit organisation People in Need, (Czech TV Foundation) the documentaries that are shown are ones which people may not otherwise have the chance to view. Held mainly at the Lucerna Cinema the festival also shows films at various other cinemas around the city.
