Foire du Trone 2009

May 2009 Paris, France
The Foire du Trone is one of the largest country fairs in all of France that attracts nearly five million visitors each year.Located on the Reuilly Lawns in Paris, it lasts from the beginning of May to the first of June every spring. The Foire du Trone is one of, if not the most popular funfair in France. With over 350 attractions covering 25 acres, the fair dates all the way back to the 12th century. In 957, merchants met with farmers and producers to trade rice and grain. Over its 1,000-year history, it has changed venues and changed names, however only to remain one of the biggest and most prestigious fairs in the whole of Europe.

With dozens of rides and flashy arcades, the Foire du Trone or Fair of the Throne, is a perfect way to get outside, enjoy the spring weather and take part in an age-old French tradition.

This modern day event integrates an immense amusement park with arcades, haunted houses and roller coasters as well as more traditional attractions such as a large Ferris Wheel and gorgeous carousel rides. The fair still includes many attractions from the years past; including jugglers, acrobats and fortunetellers. The rides last eleven minutes, if not longer! It is a Parisian tradition that both adults and children will adore.
