If you’re planning on visiting London this May, then the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is something you’re not going to want to miss! Officially named the “Great Spring Show”, it is a garden show that is held each year for five days in May on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London, England. This year the event will take place between the 19th through the 23rd. It is considered to be the most famous show in all of the United Kingdom and possibly the most famous gardening event in the world. The Chelsea Flower Show dates back to 1862, when the first show was held at the RHS garden in Kensington. Today, over 155,000 visitors attend the show annually!

There are around 600 exhibitors at the show, which includes 22 show gardens, 22 small gardens, 100 floral exhibitiors and approximately 300 garden product exhibitors. International exhibitors come from countires such as Sweden, Holland, Barbados, Australia, Sri Lanka and Jamaica to participate.The Chelsea Flower Show recieves a great deal of publicity. In 2005, the show was increased from four days a year to five and is covered extensively on tv by the BBC. All of the exhibits are judged using standard criteria and there is no limit to the number of medals that the judges can award.

The show sets the latest trends in gardening and features the newest and most desirable gardening products on the market today. Shopping, world class designers and top growers make this event something worth seeing!
