Cowal Pipe Band Championships
Every year from the 25th until 27th of August, it’s the time for the biggest world highland games in the world. It’s well known dancing competition in Scotland, Cowal Highland Gathering has all the traditional elements of a highland games.

Many events and the pressure in the crowd watching them, especially tossing the caber, shot-putting and hammer-throwing, large men in tartan sweating profusely as they hurl large objects as far as they can, putting pressure on it.

One of the world’s most spectacular Highland Games, was first out back in 1894, at the Dunnon Stadium, three days event, attracting more them 3000 competitors, putting the 32lb Cowal Stone. More then 20,000 watching the Cowal’s World Highland Dancing Championships and of course the Cowal Pipe Band Championships with over 150 bands competing.

The event would be great oportunity to take out your family from usual rutine, and have some fun all together, also little once have their own activities, entertainment for all of you, with a Food Fair, with a focus on Argyll speciality produce – the ultimate prize, which is awarded to the winners of the Grade one competition.
