But as everything is changing and getting more and more modernized, they will open Mediterraneum Acquario di Roma, anticipated Aquarium of Rome, they have finished the works which were in progress last year 2011, and now on Spring they will gather for the new opening.

There is also a great history behind all that, just to know how it looked like back in 1887 on the day of inauguration, the Roman Aquarium has been enough to cancel from the unique history of this building any memory of the original appearance of the masterfully designed construction and its small but cheerful grounds, meant, together with the Aquarium, to serve both as a fish hatchery and a gathering place for the masses of the emerging middle class then populating the new Esquiline neighbourhood.

The new aquarium will be located in the EUR district of Rome, the area is known by business and art, the aquarium will actually be located beneath the lake. The state of the art facility will include several exhibitions to help recreate the magic of the sea, a 4,000 square feet virtual water tank designed to replicate the Mediterranean Sea.

All the beauty will include Interactive 4D film technology, linked tunnels, fish robots, which will allow visitors drive robotic fish through the tanks by special touch screens in order to learn more about the underwater environments. Sounds like fun? Come to Rome and discover it yourself.
