Piazza del Campidoglio

On the top of the Capitol Hill
There are many breath taking places in Rome, so it’s hard to tell which is the best or worth to see, because all of them are. So I prefer to use term, one of the best, is definitely Piazza del Campidoglio, which is located right on the top of the Capitol Hill in the heart of Rome, right next to Piazza Venezia. This structure was a project from Michelangelo Buonarroti, inspired by pre-existent buildings.

It’s a place where Roman Divinities were once praised and nowadays it is head quarter of the Italian Government. This amazing building dates back in 1560, and to access this beautiful Piazza, you have to get through the majestic steps, and you reach the square that contains three main buildings: Palazzo Nuovo, Palazzo Senatorio and Palazzo dei Conservatori.

In the center of the Piazza del Campidoglio Michelangelo placed the statue of the Marcus Aurelius, from there you will have a breathtaking view over the ruins of the Forum Romanum. Come to Rome and fully enjoy many of the best paces in the world!
