Most beautiful bridge in the world

Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco
San Francisco, in California, is a amazing place to visit, so much to see and to enjoy, one of the most photographed objects though is one, the Golden Gate Bridge, being the symbol of San Francisco, the result of one man’s vision and persistence, spans the entrance to the San Francisco Bay. The structure links the city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County. But it’s not only photographer’s opinion, it has been also declared as one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

If we look back in the history of this Golden wonder, and it definitely has a history, last Sunday just turned 75 years old! 75 years ago, when the bridge wasn’t present, the only way to get across San Francisco Bay , was the ferry, and by the early twentieth century the Bay was clogged with them. Back in 1920, the engineer and bridge-builder Joseph Strauss decided that a bridge should be constructed across the Golden Gate. Although there were many protestants, each of them for selfish reasons, such as military and loggers..but it didn’t scare the engineer, the the San Francisco Bay Bridge was already under construction.

The construction began in 1933, after 4 years the project was completed, Strauss built every detail safely, making history with innovations including hard hats and daily sobriety tests, but still, lost 12 lives.

So, in 27th May, the Golden Bridge celebrated its 75th birthday, the admission was free, and all the main activities were held at Fort Point, Crissy Field, The Presidio and Marina Green. The bridge was closed from 9pm until 10pm, for the fireworks. Spectacular grand finale showcasing the Bridge, Bay and surrounding national park lands. Optimum visibility along the waterfront from Fort Point to all the city. There were no parking in use, so everyone used public transports walked or took a bike.
