Hong Kong
Hong Kong gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1997 and is currently going through a very special transition period. Although when you look at it on a map you may think that it’s quite small, don’t be fooled!Surrounded by skyscrapers which are hidden in the clouds, Hong Kong boasts a very high population with a bilingual proficiency in both English and Cantonese. Although there is a great western influence, Hong Kongers still have very strong Asian roots and this becomes very obvious as you walk down the streets and listen to the drums, smell the food and embrace everything which this city has to offer.
But it doesn’t take too long to venture outside of the city to The Peak for the most spectacular views you will ever witness in such peaceful surroundings. This is one city not to be missed.
