Windsor Great Park
Guildford lies in the heart of Surrey; it contains both country side and a bustling city centre catering for all types of people. Guildford’s castle was built by William the Conqueror after the victory at the Battle of Hastings. There are also the old fords which give Guildford its name: Gold fords. Unfortunately, Guildford is tainted by England’s weather so averages in the early teens with regards to temperature!On the first Tuesday of every month, there is a farmers market full of fresh produce Near by is Windsor Great Park and Windsor Castle – home to Queen Elizabeth II. The park spans 1000 acres of lakes and gardens and is free for visitors to enjoy.
Guildford is also home to Loseley Park; the park is another of Guildford’s parkland with another stunning building built in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. There are lots of shops and entertainment around, for example, Thorpe Park and Top Golf.
