Photography can change the world
National geographic used to be a channel that kids from 80’s would be watching rather than cartoons, when the world’s nature was still protected and undiscovered, when the beauty of animal life and that of plants were appreciated and the goal was to save Mother Earth. It started 125 years ago in Washington, when 33 men met to discuss how to increase and spread geographical knowledge, but no one thought that National Geographic would become as it is now ,a unique, fascinating and very extraordinary journey, something between adventure and legendary personalities and of course the beauty of the wild animal world, the biggest in the world, being most famous scientific and educational organizations in the world.In the honor of the 125th anniversary of NG’s foundation, there is a major photographic exhibition held in Rome, at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, called “The Great Adventure”, all in a honor of 125 great years of NG’s history, which has established itself in countless countries all around the world. Why in Rome? The reason is also the celebration of National Geographic Italia magazine’s activity’s 15th birthday…There will be the greatest landmark monuments in the Society’s history, shot by the very best photographers, from the very first photo that has been on the NG’s magazine, to the very latest present photos, which of course have become so much better with all the technologies, also better known around the world, again thanks to internet and television.
