One of the most iconic cities in the world, Cape Town is the southernmost city in the continent and capital of South Africa, covering a large area on the south west corner of the country and having a population of nearly 4 million inhabitants. Also known as “The Mother City”, Cape Town is placed in an area that allows many different activities, being the seas the most important for those.

It’s a major destination to immigrants and expatriates, what makes it one of the most multicultural cities in the world. It’s the second major hub in South Africa, an important center for the industry on the continent, and the seat of the National Parliament. Its pleasant weather and special location makes of Cape Town the most popular international tourist destination in Africa.

Taking a cable car to the Table Mountain is a must, you can have an awesome view and even spot some wild animals when on the top. If you are more radical, you can climb the mountain instead of taking the cable car, through the most popular track called Platteklip Gorge, where you’ll probably find many other tourists hiking with you.

Visit the Cape peninsula and all the beautiful alternative places in there, such as the historic Cape of Good Hope, and the beautiful and unique African penguin colony at the Boulders Beach. On the False Bay side of the peninsula there are some popular beaches, more frequented because of the warm waters and the soft white sand.

Cape town is also one of the best places for surfing in the world, so take advantage on that. If you are a beginner, the Muizenberg beach, also in the False Bay. Kalk Bay, Outer Kom and Misty Cliffs are places to more experienced surfers. You can also do Kite Surfing and Seal Snorkeling. Cape Town is a beautiful city, with amazing landscape and numerous exotic adventures, so if you have the chance, explore this awesome city.
