International arts Festival

Very strong program in New Zealand
Let´s get somewhere far away from Europe, an amazing New Zealand, which has many happening going on, one of them right at the end of February the New Zealand International Arts Festival , taking place annually.The festival represents a very strong international program, such as whirlwind of outstanding theatre, dance, and music.

The Art Festival has gain a lot of appreciation from other countries and art societies, it´s now a very important happening, performing arts , music and literature. It was first held back in 1986, and while the years have passed, the festival has reflected the interests of various artistic directors and important artists. For example, this year program will include Lissa Twomey returns to curate her third New Zealand International Arts Festival in 2012 with an exciting programme.

That could be a great break for you and your friends, the festival organizers are keeping some surprises, now they busy in running the Lexus Song Quest, which takes place in non-Festival years. If we look back in the past of the years in this event, the winners were, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Malvina Major, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Jonathan Lemalu.

You will recognize the festival by its symbol, which represent New Zealand perfectly, fitting the scope nicely. The kiwi, with tail feathers of nikau palm fronds, lets you know that the festival is playful and represents artists from all around the world as well as native New Zealand culture. There will be held also some free events, events for kids and even for school groups.
