It’s a very known fact that people are different , depends of their nation and how they have been raised, and where they have grown, and South America is known for special people who mostly wear smiles…I have no idea if that’s of the sun or something else, but people from Puerto Rico knows how to celebrate the life, and you don’t have to be rich to smile or to be happy! Annually Streets of San Sebastian since 1970 celebrates Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian. Its started as a simple community fund-raiser, that has turned into THE festival to go to. Loads of locals and tourists attend this 4-day event, which will guarantee you thousands of smiley people all around you, just simple happiness and nothing else. Consider that there will be a parade, music, dancing, libations, food , cos we all know to smile we need a food, and there is nothing better than local artisan crafts for sale and it all adds up to one crazy celebration, leave the daily life and daily holidays you are used to and you know exactly how they gonna be, do something spontaneous, to have a bunch of bright memories after.
Old San Juan will be focused on a big festival in 2013 January, the carnival atmosphere pervades the block as fairground rides, food stalls and live music take over the area. All you will see from parade will be red, yellow and blue colours, locals parade in processions of traditional Puerto Rican masks carved into grotesque and comical shapes. Young and old will dance theuir feet off, salsa, merengue and Puerto Rican classic tunes, enjoy the festival in San Sebastian way!
