Right now in Rome, there is a spectacular exhibition going on that pays homage to the genius that was Leonardo Da Vinci.
This exhibition has had various versions tour the world however it is only in Rome at the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum that you can get the entire experience!

In this museum you can come and see the permanently exposed machines that reflect the genius of this great mind.

Giant life size working machines that have been constructed using Da Vinci’s ideas, but that can also withstand thousands of visitors passing through to play with them.

The work that has gone into creating this exhibition is equally as impressive, sophisticated skills and technologies were required to create Da Vinci’s machines out of wood, with the challenge of it being durable and lasting, as well as translating his complicated drawings, plans and notes.

The various machines which Da Vinci invented over the years are split into 5 main classes; 4 are inspired by the elements essential to life these are; Water, Air, Earth and Fire, with the Mechanisms class referring to all the other inventions created in his mind.

As you wander through this amazing facility you can see things like the Ball Bearing, Webbed Glove, Hygrometer, Revolving Crane, the Machine Gun and of course you can not miss the Armored Tank, it is life size, weighs around 2 tons is about 6 meters high and 3 meters wide and the best part about that and this museum is that you can interact with all the displays, seeing behind the genius in his ideas.

You will find the Leonardo Da Vinci – Le Grandi Macchine Exhibition at Piazza della Cancelleria which is right next to Piazza Campo de’ Fiori, it’s open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
