Chile’s capital Santiago explodes with a very multitude programme of theatrical performances throughout January at the international theatre festival Santiago a Mil. Chile’s capital itself is very vibrant and dynamic, with a lots of performances and events going on at this time, as most of other capitals, Santiago has become a modern city where colonial mansions sit among soaring skyscrapers, somehow folk art becomes fashion and two very different cultures intertwine, Latin and European.

Santiago a Mil means Santiago for CL$1000, it’s a national and international, all kind of artists and companies present performances and spectacles in the streets of Santiago, Santiago a Mil started back in 1994 as Teatro a Mil, and it has become now as a summer cultural icon it spills out to Valparaíso, Talca, Concepción and Antofagasta. Special with one of the largest festivals of theatre stands out Santiago, the best artists and companies will take a part in this very special performance.

There will be some 50 shows presented, of which 20 will be from international companies or co-productions, the rest comprising innovative local productions.
