Music and dancing are staged in the Sambadrome for free, it starts during the weekend of 8th of February lasting for all the weekend until the 10th.

Thousands of people every year from all over the world head to Sao Paulo for the carnival, but not only to party, it’s a perfect occasion to get know better Afro-Brazilian culture, the Anhembi Sambadrome dates back in 1991, all the best samba schools will participate in parade, including some as Gavioes da Fiel, Vai-Vai, Camisa Verde e Branco, Unidos do Peruche, and many others.

Even if you are not into partying hard, you could go a bit away from Sao Paulo, in some villages like Sao Luis do Paraitinga and Sorocaba, very near by Sao Paulo, there is just less people but the spirit is the same!
