Have you ever heard about the Berlinale? It’s a short for Berlin International Film Festival, being one of the Europe’s most important film festivals, standing in between the two biggest film festivals in the world, like Cannes and Venice. Annually in February lasting 10 days from the 7th until the 17th Berliners are proud to host more than 300.00 people, which have bought the tickets, it might not be the best city for Film festival but Berlin definitely is special with its openness and inclusiveness.

For the first time the Berlin Film Festival was established in 1951, only six years after the end of the Second World War, imagine, already than it was a big happening, and now it has grown in big. That time the most of the beauty of Berlin was covered with ruins still lying around, the organizers of the festival worked very hard to revive the cultural energy of their city. It’s wide open for anyone, who love movies, it’s not any more about the industry gathering for film professionals, it has gain a huge audience from all over the world, welcoming anyone who has a passion for movies.

Films will compete for the coveted Golden and Silver Bears, all ten days the festival will be held at the Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, there will be countless shuttle busses and metros to reach the place, all the bars and restaurants of red carpet will welcome you with wide open arms.

World-class fimmakers will be present, such as Ingmar Bergman, Satyajit Ray, Michelangelo Antonioni, Roman Polanski and the leading directors of the French Nouvelle Vogue – Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut and Claude Chabrol and many more. Berlin’s Film Festival has become a leading film event.
